Geranium

What it is

Distilled from the leaves of a pelargonium, not from the flower. Bourbon geranium from Reunion is the reference grade.

What it smells like

Green and rosy with a sharp minty edge, closer to a snapped stem than to a bloom. It is used to give a rose more spine or to put a floral note into a fragrance aimed at men without it reading as a flower.
